At Sieme, we’re on a mission to rescue this genuine leather and keep it out of landfills. Through thoughtful design and ethical craftsmanship, we give these materials a second life, creating luxury accessories that redefine sustainable and “upcycled” fashion.
How it all started…
Hi, I’m Cassandra Kane, founder and designer of Sieme. After nearly a decade designing luxury fashion in New York, I moved to Florence, Italy, to learn the art of Italian handbag-making. It was here I witnessed the staggering amount of leather waste in the fashion industry—up to 60% discarded in pursuit of perfection.
This inspired me to create Sieme, a brand that repurposes leather excess into one-of-a-kind, artisan-made handbags, crafted by family-run factories in Tuscany.
With a commitment to preserving traditional techniques and supporting local artisans, we’re redefining what luxury can, and should be.
